Baby Care Tips – Learning Smart Responses
If you want to start the learning process for your infant, you will need to consider how you talk to the baby. How you listen and how you talk to the baby will determine how your baby develops learning skills such as listening and talking. A high response, high touch parenting style promotes baby brain development by giving the brain the right kind of information in the infant’s life when the brain is in need of the most nourishment. In simple terms, new research has concluded that parents determine whether their baby will become smart through the actions they perform with their babies. One way to do this is responding to baby cues as this builds their brain connections.
In the recent past, parents were informed that what they buy for their baby is more important than their interaction with the baby. In the long run, baby rooms were looking like bedrooms for baby animals due to the amount of toys in them. At the same time, there were creation of infant simulation classes and manufacturer of brain simulation toys. All these were done in an effort to help parents get their child a head start to a Harvard education. Present day research has discovered that such facts are not true.
Studies have shown that there is no evidence supporting previous ideology of expensive and fancy toys being an integral part of making intelligent babies. Researchers from different parts of the world evaluated the influence of programs and toys in infant development. Their findings showed that mother interaction was and is still the best for the development of a child. One study was done by renowned pediatrician, Dr. Lewis, who discovered that there was lack of evidence supporting the effectiveness of using expensive classes and fancy toys to make brighter babies.
The study concluded that the most influence on a baby’s intellect is the responsiveness from caregivers to the cues of a baby. In fact, the study showed that baby cues provide a connection. So it will not matter what parents buy or if a parent uses flash cards in a bid to make an infant intelligent. Relationships with babies is the key to building brighter infants.
Use of music
Music is known to relax the body and mind. New research has proved what parents have been suspecting for a long time: music can make children and infants possibly smarter and calmer. Interest in music being used as a cerebral stimulant comes from observations done on premature infants. The observations showed that newborn nurseries performed better when they were exposed to classical music. Studies in schools have further shown that performance and attention of students marginally improves when classical music is played in the background. Musical scientists theorize that neuron patterns are organized throughout the brain especially neurons associated with creative reasoning. A calming effect is created by music because it stimulates the release of hormones that cause a calming effect. Therefore, babies who are exposed to music have a better chance of becoming smart in the future.
