MASS BAY COUNSELING presents PARENTING WORKSHOP SERIES

Parenting is one of the most difficult jobs in the world. If you find that your children are challenging in their behaviors, emotional reactions, or growing up too fast, it can be hard to know how to respond effectively as a parent. You are certainly not alone! The following workshops are being offered as a source of support, psycho- education, and receiving concrete tools to prepare your next response to your child or teen.

TRACK 1: Behavior Management Strategies (series of 6 sessions)

Dates/Topics: October 29th- Intervention strategies; November 12th- Punishment/Consequences; December 10th- Prevention methods; January 14th- Communication; February 25th- Positive reinforcement; March 18th-Compromise

Facilitator: Bill DeFranc, PhD

TRACK 2: Parenting Teen Girls (series of 6 sessions)

Dates/Topics: October 15th- Girls’ self-esteem; November 19th- Eating disorders; December 17th- Body image and media messages: February 11th- Bullying and peer pressure; March 11th- Self-harming behaviors; April 15th- Safety and dating violence.

Facilitator: Zaza Sakhat, LICSW

Both tracks will be held from 6-7:30 pm on the designated dates at 234 Copeland Street, Quincy, MA. Refreshments will be provided!

There is a charge of $45 per person or $80 per couple per session. Although parents may “drop-in” per session, meaning there is no need to commit to the whole series, we ask that you kindly call to register one week prior to each session since space is limited: 617-786-0137. Hope to see you there!
